Should I Hire a Local SEO Company in St. George?
What Does a Local SEO Company Actually Do?
Yes, hire a local SEO company in St. George. Why?
Simply put, a local SEO company uses the knowledge that they have acquired to help your website show up in search results and especially show up in the top 3 of the Google Map Pack (Google Map Pack: The three local businesses that Google shows next to the map on page one of a service related search).

From here we’ll use my business, Out Of The Box SEO as our baseline.
One of the ways we achieve the results is by using your photos, Your Google Business Profile (GBP) categories, services, posts, reviews, citations, and NAP (Name, Address, Phone Number) consistency.
Excellent local content matters too (example: this article about a local business Out Of The Box SEO in St. George, UT). When we work on a site, we create pages about neighborhoods, landmarks, and local events and happenings. We help Google know that you live in Southern Utah, and what your business does.
Let me be blunt, your competitors are investing in SEO. They’re building citations. They’re getting reviews. They’re updating their GBP. They’re ranking.
That’s why they’re showing in the map pack.
The map pack is where local buyers go. This is because that is where the Google Reviews are.
My personal experience using local SEO tactics on one of my websites

After I learned how to do local SEO, I went to work on the window cleaning website I own: First Impressions Window Cleaning (First Impressions Window Cleaning – Window Cleaning St George Utah).
I purchased the domain name and began working on the website in April 2026. I created a GBP for the business and began adding very specific category and service pages to the site.
By mid June, 2026 I was ranking in the top three of the Google Map Pack for window cleaning St. George. I would admit that this result seems unusually fast, but “why look a gift horse in the mouth.”
Can I Do Local SEO Myself?
Yes, you can do these things yourself. The question is whether you have the time and knowledge to do them consistently.
If you do decide to do the local seo for your business, start with a local SEO audit (we do audits for free). An audit will check your GBP and your website. An audit looks at your GBP categories and services, citations and Google reviews. An audit will check your website for broken or incomplete webpages. You will also receive a list of what to do to your website to fix the problems.
Fix your problems and then abracadabra your website shows up on page one of a Google search.

Why Hire a Local SEO Company in St. George?
I own and run Out of the Box SEO.
I live here in Southern Utah. I work here. I know the area. I know what ranks. I know what doesn’t. And I won’t tell you to redesign your site unless it’s actually needed.
I work on local landing pages. Neighborhood pages. Service area pages. Pages about local issues. Google loves this stuff and we make sure it gets a good helping of local information about you.
You know your business website needs to be found. If you hire the right SEO company (that’s us, by the way) this would be the quickest way to show up in searches.
I would encourage you to contact us. We’ll chat, see if we’re a good match, and go from there.

Do SEO myself or hire an agency?
Context – 10 year old senior care business making good money through govt contracts. Looking to expand to retail side and focus on families/seniors directly.
As an owner, should I explore learning and implementing SEO/Digital marketing and invest time/resources or should I hire an agency to do it for me? I’m worried I won’t do a good enough job myself and I’ll end up wasting time and being frustrated. I also do not want to spend a lot of money on an agency, happy to spend $1,000 to $1,500 a month on digital marketing.
Any suggestions on what’s the best way to approach/decide?
My answer: (Written if you were a local business, which you probably are) If you are willing to spend $1,000 to $1,500 a month on SEO, that is a direction you should go. But…be very careful who you hire. The Google Map Pack and the Google reviews are important.
Why hire and agency (or individual like myself)? We know things to look for that are errors on a website. A few of these include things like missing meta descriptions, no h2 tags, mismatched business name, address, or phone #). We can also look for 404’s, page speed, multiple H1 tags, and missing alt tex on images.
